Tajrie Mohamad, or Chef Taj as he is known to his loyal followers, first started out as a kitchen crew at the first Marche restaurant at The Hereen in 2004.
Hard work, perseverance and dedication to his craft led him to numerous opportunities such as stints in Ritz Carlton Hotel.
His proudest moment came when he was approached to spearhead the opening of one of France’s oldest bakeries in Singapore.
As the Executive Chef of Paul de Maison’s first flagship outlet outside of France, he was responsible for the setting up of the restaurant, menu and training for the chefs.
The success of the Singapore outlet led him to training chefs from Paul restaurants in the UK, Dubai, Korea and Russia.
An opportunity to open his own restaurant came along and Cookwerx by Chef Taj opened at East Village in 2014. His comfort Western cuisine proved to be very popular with his followers and foodies.
As the resident chef of The Bravery cafe, Chef Taj is responsible for refreshing the menu every few months and also bringing back his much-loved signature dishes from his Cookwerx days.
